“…to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind…”

Since some local legislatures defend their anti-gay legislation with the phrase ‘the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God’, we ask, “Of all the laws of Nature’s God, which one is the greatest?

Fact: In nature, homosexuality has been observed in most animal species.

 

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

 

Is your right to marry and have a family according to your beliefs a vital part of your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness? Can’t you see, it is the same for millions of your Gay and Lesbian brothers and sisters? Is it right to deny millions of Americans this profoundly personal and fundamental Right?

Facts: In all of canonized LDS scripture, the only place where God or Jesus Christ said anything against homosexual behavior was in Leviticus as part of the law of Moses. Latter-day Saints and other Christians who understand and believe the Savior’s words, His life, death and atonement, know that He fulfilled that law completely, every jot and tittle. Because the entire Law of Moses has been fulfilled, true Christians no longer perform animal sacrifices or stone children who talk back to their parents. It is no longer an abomination to eat shell fish or for women to where pants, etc. etc. Sadly, many Christians choose to hang on to this one jot or tittle of the Law of Moses to persecute God’s Gay and Lesbian children. In so doing they effectively deny the Savior’s words and atonement and impair their ability to follow His new commandment: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 13:34

Nowhere in the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants or Pearl of Great Price is there one word against truly loving, monogamous homosexual relationships.

 

“Master which is the great commandment in the law?”
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets”
Matt. 22:36-40.

 

Millions of God’s Gay and Lesbian children want to marry according to God’s greatest law, the Law of Love

 

“Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.... God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:7-8, 16.

“For verily I say unto you, one jot nor one tittle hath not passed away from the law, but in me it hath all been fulfilled….Therefore those things which were of old time, which were under the law, in me are all fulfilled. Old things are done away, and all things have become new.”
3 Nephi 12:18, 46-47

 

“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” Gal. 5:14.
